I want a place where I can lounge, read and take afternoon naps ( weather permitting). I added the net because I am not a fan of mosquitoes and other flies.
Also one of my favorite corner on the balcony is the little round table I got secondhand … it’s always changing with plants and flower arrangements.
I used to be the type of person who either does something the way I envision it or don’t do it at all. That was a really bad habit to have because a lot of projects were left unfinished or never started at all. Case in point my balcony. For a very long time my balcony space was neglected. Because I always didn’t want to invest in making a home - thinking I will one day move? Instead of living in the moment and appreciating this stage of my life, I was always looking ahead and missing all the wonderful things happening around me now.
Good news, I have been inspired by the women in my life to take that first step, even when I don’t have everything together. I got my balcony cleaned out and now it’s coming together nicely. What I have so far is lovely and I’m sure as time goes by I will move and change things around. What I have learned from all this - things don’t have to be perfect to start, face the unknowns (fears). Starting is always the hard part but once you start, it’s so easy to move forward.
